![]() Ravenclaw, Year 7 Chaser - Captain

"The field will be so crowded tomorrow! Why on earth would I do it tomorrow if I could just go tonight and be completely alone?" She crossed her arms, frustrated that he had anything to do with her decisions. Honestly, when it came right down to it, he didn't. Sarah didn't quite know why she was letting him boss her around. And honestly, she would probably just end up going on her midnight Quidditch run anyway, since it was practically a tradition for her. "Whatever you say, Troy," she said, annoyed. She still had every intention of going.

"Because it's against the rules!" He said, putting down his fork and looking at her clearly annoyed. Why is she being so thick headed?! he thought frustrated. He didn't enjoy seeing people getting into trouble, but he doesn't like letting people off just because he knows them, and he simply did not understand why Sarah insisted on breaking the rules. One can have fun AND follow the rules! Why can't she understand that? he thought annoyed but was not going to tell her that. Again.

"Whatever you say, Troy," she repeated moodily. Sarah wasn't asking for him to let her off -- what she really wanted was for him to go with her, but she didn't see that happening anytime soon. Actually, Sarah wasn't even sure why she wanted to go with him in the first place, but a midnight Quidditch run with Ethan actually sounded... well, pretty great. The truth was, when she did things that she merited as fun with him, it made the experience even better. She knew she was acting spoiled and being unreasonable, but this Quidditch run was very important to Sarah. She'd been doing this since her third year at Hogwarts, and she really had no intention of stopping her tradition. It was freeing, really, to fly in the middle of the night. No one else would get it until they tried -- which is why she sort of really wanted to share this with Ethan. It was weird to her that she felt so strongly about Ethan going with her, not someone else, and she didn't understand it.
"I don't know why you're acting like such an old woman. Merlin. It's not a big deal. Just thought you could do with some more fun." She coldly stuck a fork into her potato.

"You're really obsessed over this fun shite, y'know?" he half asked half said. Every conversation they had always ended up to the topic of fun and how he didn’t how to have any and she was this expert on it all. Well, newsflash not everything in life is supposed to be fun. Ethan learned that the hard way, maybe its time Sarah did the same. You don't really mean that! that same little voice scolded him, and this time he couldn't shove it away because he actually agreed with it. While she annoyed him to no end, he wouldn't want her to have the same miserable life he has. Feeling his stern expression softer slightly, he added with a shrug, "well, if I can't stop you now, I guess I'll see you later then" he figured fighting about it now would only make her want to do it more – out of spite. So there was really no point trying to stop her. Catching her in the act, although it would lead her into trouble, well, it will also show her not to mess with him. She can joke and make of him, fine, he can tolerate that, but undermine his authority, nu-uh. Its bad enough he has Bristow as Head Boy now. This is where he was going to draw the line.

She raised one eyebrow, high. "Are you going to catch me in the act, or join me?" Sarah asked, the latter suggestion making her smirk the slightest bit, as if challenging him. She knew what his intentions were -- he was going to catch her doing it, but there was absolutely nothing that he could do about it. Especially without a broom. It would be easy enough for him to get one, yes, but there was no way in hell that he could catch her on a Cleansweep. She had one of the best brooms of the decade, which was so much faster than the dusty brooms the school held.

He scoffed at her dare, "what do you think?" he asked though he didn't actually expect an answer since it was very clear what he would do, and joining her was not it. He took the last bite of his chicken, and glancing around he saw that the students were starting to leave, and as Prefect he should probably also get going. Of course he would let the new Prefects handle the first years, and seeing as he wasn't in the modd of talking to Bristow just yet, he figured since he was going to do some Prefecting later tonight, he could ease off on his duties for the early evening.
And the best part of this was that Sarah would most definitely not want to accompany him in his Prefecting duties. Pleased with his plan, Ethan swallowed what was left in his cup and got up, looking down at Sarah, "I best be off to Prefect duty," he started saying as he got around the bench, "I'll catch ya later" he said smirking as he stared walking towards the exit, his words conveying both the fact that he will, unfortunately, see her later, and the confidence that he will catch her breaking rules.

She smiled sweetly when he stood up, only slightly mocking him for going on Prefect duties. Taking a bite from her potatoes, Sarah gave him a wave. "See you tonight," Sarah said teasingly, as if they had different motives for tonight. She smiled to herself as he left, actually quite intrigued for tonight.
