"Whatever" he said with an eye roll, he didn't want her to start think he thought highly of her or anything. He blamed it all on Sarah really, for making him nicer, he must not let that happen again. "Don't get it all up your head or anything eh?" he half scolded half demanded. He was mid shrug and about to say 'nothin' new' when the sorting hat began, and everyone fell silent as it sang.

"What do you reckon it means," Ethan started saying, appearing in concentration as he turned his attention back to Natalie, "those last verses? Do you think the sorting hat wants us to mingle more with other Houses?" he exclaimed a hint of disdain in his voice even though he had nothing against the other Houses. 'Yet do not let a mere sorting Determine who you want to be. Look beyond a color or crest And you will find something dear' Odd he mused.

"Alright, keep your hair on," Tallie said coolly in reply, holding her hands up in a peace-making gesture. The Sorting Song began at that moment though, giving her reason enough to keep quiet as she listened. She turned back to Ethan once it had finished and he addressed her again, nodding in agreement.

"I suppose so - I mean, I guess there's not much bad that can come from it," she said, considering how if she kept purely to her own house she would surely be missing out on the relationships she had forged with other houses over her years at Hogwarts.

However, having never been formally introduced it seemed prudent to wait for their mutual friend to make the introductions. "Summer was...interesting." she settled on, unsure of how to phrase her concerns for her father, that history might repeat itself at Hogwarts with another life potentially to be claimed this year and that the Ravenclaw might actually fail her exams and not be allowed to take NEWTS next year! "What did you two get upto? Anything exciting?" It was pretty likely they had a better summer than her. Anyone not holed up for weeks on end already beat her!
Charlotte was surprised when Chloe didn't know Ian, they'd been in the same house for five years, but she introduced them anyways. "Chloe Isaacson this is my best friend Ian Walsh, Ian Walsh this is my dorm mate Chloe Isaacson." She listened to Chloe's story and then said "I didn't do much really. Exciting? Um, sort of. You know Isabella Hickey, right? Incase you don't, she's in our year in Hufflepuff. She's my best friend, not including Ian or Sophia Dixon, and she came over in mid July I think. We got in this huge fight and we haven't spoken since. No wait, she sent me a letter apologizing and I sent a reply telling her how sorry I was. Other than that I didn't do anything. By the way, what do you mean by 'interesting'?"

"I guess not" Ethan said with an indifferent shrug; he had no problem with the other Houses. He may have had certain opinions of people in them, but not as a general rule – stereotyping was never something he followed. "So," he started saying, looking at the new soon-to-become first years and then back at Natalie, "how did you do in your O.W.L.s?" he asked, not too interested in her results, but finding it hard to remain quiet. Its all Sarah's fault he blamed the new Captain, glancing around, wondering where she was.

Sarah Mullet
Ravenclaw, Year 7
Chaser - Captain

Sarah had been stuck sitting next to a bunch of absolutely obnoxious third years. She really didn't know why she was there. She'd been sitting there since she sat down from the train. On the train over, Sarah had sprawled out in an empty compartment, asleep for most of the ride ovr. When she did wake up, though, Sarah found herself sitting with a bunch of ickle first years, which sort of really scared her -- they were tiny and annoying. So, to rid herself of the weird situation, she told them all to join the Quidditch team if they were Sorted into Ravenclaw and trotted off the train, into this weird spot with the rest of the third years.

Just as the Sorting Hat was finishing his rant, Sarah spotted Ethan. Smirking, she couldn't help herself. She got up from her miserable spot and snuck over, sliding into the spot next to him. Sarah caught the last part of what Ethan said and went at it immediately. "Aw, bless him! Look at you, caring about everything! When did you turn all nice, Troy?" Sarah teased loudly, then looked over at Natalie, who had most certainly been the cause of many detentions last year -- not that Sarah really cared that she got into detention all the time. "Hey, Natalie. Nice summer?"

Hayden was so excited to hear that Jade would be coming to Hogwarts. Having a sibling at school was nice, luckily they didn't look too much alike which could be a blessing for Jade since the fifth year did quite spectacularly in school. "She'll share if you ask her politely you know."

Hearing that Hugo's teeth were in good condition made her quite pleased, that meant he had good hygiene or something which was a good thing! "Well, that's brilliant, about your good teeth I mean," after getting an explanation of what went on with pulling teeth, Hayden breathed a sigh of relief with how you don't actually feel it happen, that would be horrifying.

The blond quickly looked towards the sorting hat, and glanced around at the first year students, why did Jade have to be so bloody short? Her eyes fell upon the small brunette who apparently had taken to hiding in the middle of the crowd, it also appeared to seem that her little sister had been looking around at all the other students as well. "She's in the middle right there!" Hayden pointed excitedly over at her sister, she wondered where the hat would place her... "I wonder where she'll be sorted into," she said curiously, looking towards the hat again.
The idea of sharing with Jade was one Hugo didn't mind, but he just wasn't sure if she really would do that. "Are you sure?" He questioned Hayden, with a suspicious look upon his face. In the end, it didn't really matter. It was just a fun game to play.

Hugo nodded about the not feeling pain part when you go to the dentist. It was quite a relief. "Thanks," He grinned widely. Good teeth were certainly something to be prided on. Even with the amount of sweets the new Prefect consumed, he always took care to keep his teeth healthy. Otherwise Grandma and Grandpa Granger would not be pleased.

"I see her!" He exclaimed excitedly, and shrugged. Hugo had no idea where Jade would be Sorted; he didn't know his best friend's little sister very well. Just knew her name and a few things about her. How she liked stealing his sweets. "What's your guess?" He asked Hayden in regards to the Sorting.

Sorting finished and the first years seated with their new houses, the tables magically filled with nearly anything anyone could want: chicken, beef, pork and more. Goblets filled with pumpkin juice and water, and still more plates were covered in pastas, salads, breads and, of course, desserts. The Great Hall filled quickly with the sounds of happy people, eating and chatting with great joy.

"Yes, I am sure.. as long as you don't eat all the chocolate frogs.. those are her favorites," Hayden replied, all this talk about food was causing her stomach to growl she rested her hand on her stomach and groaned. "Why am I so hungry? Those snacks certainly don't keep you content until the feast.."

Hayden's eyes darted back towards the front of the hall, and just as she was about to guess what house Jade would be sorted into her sister's name was called. "THE HAT IS GOING ON HER HEAD!" she whispered excitedly, and clapped her hands together. The fifth year's eyes never left the first year, the hat looked so big on Jade it was rather amusing and cute all at the same time, and then the hat shouted out where her sister's loyalties would be. "Hugo she's in Gryffindor!" Hayden squealed, and clapped her hands feverishly. "Mum and Dad will be pleased, I just hope she doesn't get lost..," her eyes followed her sister who eagerly moved to sit with the other Gryffindors. "A lion, hmmm... first Gryffindor we've had in our family for awhile.."

As the food appeared on the table the Ravenclaw let out a sigh of relief, she wasn't sure how long her stomach could last without eating. "Finally," she said while grabbing some pasta, salad and mashed potatoes.
