MERLIN'S GREEN

Located on the outskirts of the Wizarding village and away from the hustle and bustle of the high street, Merlin’s Green is the perfect place to take a walk and relax among the carefully tended gardens. Available for anyone to use, it is a popular spot for magical folk to take some time out, whether it is to meet friends, walk dogs or simply enjoy the nature around them.

Chase sat on a bench in the middle of the park feeling rather nervous. He has owled Roxanne asking her to meet him here so they could talk. A kind of talk that he had never had to have before and wasn't sure how to approach. He also didn't know what he was supposed to do when he saw Roxanne. Was he supposed to kiss her? Chase figured he wasn't because if he tried he'd probably look like an even bigger idiot. It was probably best to just wait and see what happens.

Roxanne didn't really know what to expect as she apparated to Merlin's Green to meet Chase - the events at the end of his party were still fresh in her mind (remarkable, considering how fuzzy some of the earlier hours from that night were), and she was certain Chase hadn't forgotten, either. She couldn't help the smile that sneaked onto her face when caught sight of him, and sat down close as she joined him on the bench.

"Hey," she said with a good-natured nudge, giving him a grin and biting her lip.

Chase looked up when he heard the loud CRACK as Roxanne apparated into the park. A smile appeared on his own face but his nerves didn't let up and she only made it worse by sitting so close to him. "Hey," he said giving her a nudge back. He sat there for what seemed like forever trying to figure out what to say first. "Feels weird not being back at school, yeah?"

"Yeah, it does, especially hearing about all the cousins going back," Roxanne agreed with a smile, another short silence spanning between them as she too wondered what she should say as they danced around the elephant in the room. "How's the job going though, and the flat? I think we all need to properly christen it soon, though I'm sure you and Wes already have," she smirked, knowing the two of them well enough to be sure they had already got up to plenty of fun since they'd moved in.

"It's good, well I mean right now I'm mostly doing errands for Mr. Saldaroosh but it's a start," he said with a shrug. Chase smiled at the mention of the flat and was glad to hear that she was eager to see it. "It's as amazing as we expected it to be. We definitely need to get you and Abbey over there before we have our first big party." He wanted to bring up the real reason why they were there to talk but he wasn't sure how and he was afraid to ruin the good conversation they were having right now.

"Hey, well, they all say he's the best, don't they? It's a good start, I'd say," Roxanne said encouragingly - though she didn't know that much about different journalists, she saw the name Saldaroosh enough in the paper to be aware that he was a big name in the field. She was glad to hear that everything was going well with the new flat (though she was sure he and Wes together in a property would manage to make a cardboard box a cool place to hang out), but the mention of parties again caused her mind to linger on his last get-together he had held before he had moved out.

"Let's hope it's as good as the last one, yeah?" she said, a little less assuredly than before, looking at him sideways. They hadn't really talked about what had happened, and she didn't know whether it was something Chase now regretted (or even remembered).

Chase felt a lump in his throat as her nerves started to get worse. He didn't realize that mentioning a party might lead them into a discussion about the last one he had. He thought that maybe they could beat around the bush for a bit longer but it was now or never. "So, you had a good time at the last one then?" he asked timidly.

When Roxanne looked over at Chase and saw him looking so nervous, she couldn't but smile, endeared, and nodded. "Yeah, it was fun," she said reassuringly, not feeling guilty because she was speaking the truth, she had enjoyed herself.

After a second of quiet she chuckled, amused by the quietness between them now considering neither of them were hardly introverted people. "So what now, Chase?" she asked him seriously, though a shadow of a grin hung at the corners of her mouth to try and make him relax a bit. She thought it was better to just ask him straight rather than them continue to tiptoe around the matter and making things more and more awkward.

Chase was only becoming more confused and more nervous as this went on. Roxanne thought the night was fun but he still didn't know what that meant for their kiss. He pondered her question and thought about what he could before realizing it would just be everything she's heard before when he had confessed his feelings. "I'm not really sure. You know how I feel about you, Rox. The quaffle's in your pitch now," he said nervously.
