Post your favorite quotes from any of books here! Be sure to include the Chapter number and title (pages may change between the British and American copies, so chapters are more reliable).

Galleons: For our blog, F Yeah, Deathly Hallows!, we routinely post quotes from Deathly Hallows. If we choose your quote, you'll get 10 Galleons.

Only DH quotes are used on the blog (therefore, only they can be selected), but you can post a quote from any book here in this thread. Yaaaaaay Harry Potta! I'll kick this off!

"It’s real for us,” said Snape. “Not for her. But we’ll get the letter, you and me.”

“Really?” whispered Lily.

“Definitely,” said Snape, and even with his poorly cut hair and his odd clothes, he struct and oddly impressive figure sprawled in front of her, brimful of confidence in his destiny.

“And will it really come by owl?” Lily whispered.

“Normally,” said Snape. “But you’re Muggle-born, so someone from the school will have to come and explain to your parents.”

“Does it make a difference, being Muggle-born?”

Snape hesitated. His black eyes, eager in the greenish gloom, moved over the pale face, the dark red hair.

“No,” he said. “It doesn’t make any difference."
-- Chapter 23, The Prince's Tale
I love this quote because I love the relationship between Snape and Lily. Snape, who's obviously a bit concerned about blood (look at the way he treats Petunia) assures Lily that it'll be okay because that's how much he cares about her. Whyyyyy did he have to go and join the Death Eaters? Whyyyyy couldn't they be together ~foreverrrr~?!

strength sublime, alive in his very skin. love alone remains.

wizard rock month ; have you wrocked today?

There is a certain quote that always made me smile a bit.

"NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!"

Mrs. Weasley threw off her cloak as she ran, freeing her arms. Bellatrix spun on the spot, roaring with laughter at the sight of her new challenge.

"OUT OF MY WAY!" shouted Mrs. Weasley to the three girls, and with a swipe of her wand she began to duel. Harry watched with terror and elation as Molly Weasley's wand slashed and twirled, and Bellatrix Lestrange's smile faltered and became a snarl. Jets of light flew from both wands, the floor around the witches feet became hot and cracked; both women were fighting to kill.

"No!" Mrs. Weasley cried as a few students ran forward, trying to come to her aid. "Get back! Get back! She is mine!"

Hundred of people now lined the walls, watching the two fights. Voldemort and his three opponents, Bellatrix and Molly, and Harry stood, invisible, torn between both, wanting to attack and yet to protect, unable to be sure that he would not hit the innocent.

"What will happen to your children when I've killed you?" taunted Bellatrix, as mad as her master, capering as Molly's curses danced around her. "When Mummy's gone the same way as Freddie?"

"You — will — never — touch — our — children — again!" screamed Mrs. Weasley.

Bellatrix laughed, the same exhilarated laugh of her cousin Sirius had given as he toppled backwards through the veil, and suddenly harry knew what was going to happen before it did.

Molly's curse soared beneath Bellatrix's outstretched arm and hit her squarely in the chest, directly over the heart.

Bellatrix's gloating smile froze, her eyes seemed to bulge; For the tiniest space of time she knew what had happened, and then she toppled, and the watching crowd roared, and Voldemort screamed.

— Chapter 36, The Flaw in the Plan, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
That whole scene made me have a new look at Molly. And I couldn't help but cheer for her. Just comes to show that never mess with the Weasleys.

I don't have any DH quotes to share But I love that quote between Snape and Lily and Molly was kick ass awesome. Can't wait to reread that book. So, I've been rereading SS and I hardly remember a thing since I last read the book years ago. And, I just found this quote hilarious.

They heard the click of the mail slot and flop of letters on the doormat.

"Get the mail, Dudley," said Uncle Vernon from behind his paper.

"Make Harry get it."

"Get the mail Harry."

"Make Dudley get it."

"Poke him with your Smelting stick, Dudley."

This makes me laugh everytime I think about it.

"Is this the moment?" Harry asked weakly, and when nothing happened except that Ron and Hermione gripped eachother still more firmly and swayed on the spot, he raised his voice. "OI! There's a war going on here!"

Ron and Hermione broke apart, their arms still around eachother.

"I know mate," said Ron, who looked as though he had recently been hit on the back of the head with a Bludger, "so it's now or never isn't it?"

I love all these quotes! Sharing them reminds me of how much I love Harry Potter - not that I need to be reminded. Anyway, these are perhaps my favorite quotes:

There's a lot more leading up to this that I find quite funny but here's the good stuff:
"Get him red and gold [robes] to match his badge," said George, smirking.

"Match his what?" said Mrs. Weasley absently, rolling up a pair of maroon socks and placing them on Ron's pile.

"His badge," said Fred, with the air of getting the worst over quickly. "His lovely shiny new prefect's badge."

Fred's words took a moment to penetrate Mrs. Weasley's preoccupation about Pajamas.

"His... but... Ron, you're not...?"

Ron held up his badge.

Mrs. Weasley let out a shriek just like Hermione's.

"I don't believe it! I don't believe it! Oh Ron, how wonderful! A prefect! That's everyone in the family!"

"What are Fred and I, next-door-neighbors?" said George indignantly, as his mother pushed him aside and flung her arms around her youngest son.
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter Nine, The Woes of Mrs. Weasley

"But you are normal!" said Harry fiercely. "You've just got a - a problem -"

Lupin burst out laughing. "Sometimes you remind me a lot of James. He called it my 'furry little problem' in company. Many people were under the impression that I owned a badly behaved rabbit."

^ Taryn - LOVE that Twin quote!

and of course, all of the quotes... ^_^

It was nearly one in the morning when Harry finally went up to the dormitory with Ron, Neville, Seamus, and Dean. Before he pulled the curtains of his four-poster shut, Harry set his tiny model of the Hungarian Horntail on the table next to his bed, where it yawned, curled up, and closed its eyes. Really, Harry thought, as he pulled the hangings on his four-poster closed, Hagrid had a point... they were all right, really, dragons...
**Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter twenty one - The House-Elf Liberation Front

I just really love this quote, because of Harry's realisation that dragons are not so bad ^_^ [i.e. awesome ]

I've been reading Goblet of Fire for the past month and theres a few quotes that I think are pretty funny

"PEEVES!" yelled an angry voice. "Peeves, come down here at ONCE!"

Professor McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress and head of Gryffindor House, had come dashing out of the Great Hall; she skidded on the wet floor and grabbed Hermione around the neck to stop herself from falling.

"Ouch -- sorry, Miss Granger --"
"That's all right, Professor!" Hermione gasped, massaging her throat.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - Chapter 12 (The Triwizard Tournament)
And then Harry heard Hagrid speak.

"Momen' I saw yeh, I knew," he was saying, in an oddly husky voice.

Harry and Ron froze.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - Chapter 23 (The Yule Ball)
"They'd never have set a task that was undoable."

"They have," said Ron. "Harry, just go down to the lake tomorrow, right, stick your head in, yell at the merpeople to give back whatever they've nicked, and see if they chuck it out. Best you can do, mate."

“Do you mean ter tell me,” he growled at the Durleys, “that this boy — this boy! — knows nothin’ abou’ — about ANYTHING?”

Harry thought this was going a bit far. He had been to school, after all, and his marks weren’t bad.

“I know some things,” he said. “I can, you know, do math and stuff.”

My all-time favorite:

"Albus Severus," Harry said quietly, so that nobody but Ginny could hear, and she was tactful enough to pretend to be waving a rose, who was now on the train, "you were named after two headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them was a Slytherin and he was probably the bravest man I ever knew."

It proves that Harry had actually forgiven Snape after finding out the truth, and that he didn't die in vain.
