Before I went off the boards for almost six months I got a notification that someone had posted a comment on my profile, well I checked it and signed off but when I came back a couple days ago I noticed that I had a comment on my 'wall' and when I clicked I realized it was the same comment I had before I left.
Since then I've had multiple notifications and each time I check what it's telling me to the number will go away, but the one about the comment on my profile from six months ago is still there. And I know it's for the same notification because each time I log on it's still there so I'll check it out and there's no new activity on my end since the last time I was logged on yet the notification is still there. So, I think the notification system is gliched. |

Is it a moderated message or something? Because if it is you have to approve it for the notification to go away.

I actually saw this happen before with someone... I think it happened to Nadya.... but sometimes it might not go away until it's on the second page or something.

Carol. That's not it. Before I went to post I checked that theory out. But when I checked the comment in question and scrolled down to click approve, I got a message that said what I was trying to do was not a valid option for the comment.
Sherrie. I havn't had enough comments yet to make it switch to the next page, so that is still an option. I'm just confused on why it's stuck. Last edited by Faye Dartmouth; 06-06-2010 at 06:27 PM. |

Hrm, that sounds weird Kim! We'll look into it and see if there is anything under the hood that we can figure out

Try resetting your cookies. It happens sometimes to me, too, and I just reset my cookies.

But I would definitely try clearing your cookies as Keri suggested, checking for any moderated messages you need to approve as Sherrie mentioned and logging out for a few minutes. I've not had any issues myself, but I know these things can help from other people having similar issues. |

Doesn't clearing the cookies only help on the specific computer? Because I've been using an internet cafe here in Chicago to log onto the internet, (I can't afford a hookup at the apartment right now) and I sit at a different station each time. I can't go about clearing the cookies on each computer as that would only fix the problem temporarily.
I'm assuming the glich can't be fixed until I get access back to the computer I own because the cookies have to be cleared on the computer I'm use to access this site. Correct? |
