FAMILY HISTORY
Let's get this out of the way first: Yes. Yes, I am the daughter of Ron and Hermione Weasley and my uncle is Harry Potter and no, I won't get you autographs and yes, if you ask me again, I will hex you. So there's that.
Isn't it funny how in the beginning everything's bloody peachy? You drool and crawl and cry your head off and everything's handed to you. And for a while, your mum hangs around the house to raise you, and your dad's there as often as he can be, and it's really great. And the best parts are when your dad tells you these crazy stories about him and mum and Uncle Harry riding dragons and fighting evil-doers, and it's magical. I mean quite literally. That was my life until I was, I think about five? Five, six, something along those lines. My dad told me stories and they were wild and crazy, and I'd float around the house pretending I was riding one of his fantastical dragons. Mum and dad were always honest with us when it came to what they'd done and what had happened to them. I didn't mind. I thought it was cool. And mum laughed at me, and then yelled at dad and they'd fight, then they'd make up, and it was perfect.
Of course a brother comes along, and I'm not going to complain, because Hugo's great. He's the best. But I grew up and the stories of what mum had done got more real for me as dad retold them to Hugo. And I realized that when we met up with Uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny and my amazing-awesome cousins in places like Diagon Alley, there was a lot of staring, and that was weird. Like okay, so my uncle has a funny scar, so what, who cares, no big deal.
And then of course I get to Hogwarts and everyone is pointing at me and James and Albus and it's so dumb, because come on, our parents did it years ago, and yeah my dad and uncle are Aurors now but it's stupid that everyone thinks it's a big goddamn deal. Okay, yay, they saved the world, so what? I could do that.
I could totally do that.
PERSONALITY
Rose is her father's daughter. That's not to say she's not like Hermione, but she's so exceptionally like her father that it always makes her Uncle Harry and Aunt Ginny laugh...whereas her mother and father can hardly stand it. Rose is argumentative, pushy, forceful, easily offended, and terribly insecure. She gets bossy with Hugo sometimes (which Ron always blames on Hermione) and she can scream with the best of them. Merlin, there have been screaming matches at the Weasley house. She's constantly fighting with her parents: her mother can't stand her attitude, and her father is so much like his daughter that somehow, they still clash. It's best to bring earplugs if you're around them for very long.
And yet she can throw a Quaffle like nobody's business, and her best trait (according to her mother) is her fierce, undying loyalty to her family, particularly her brother. Certainly they've had scraps before and will always bug each other, but she will never let anyone push him around, nor will anyone lay a hand on one of her cousins. It was this particular feisty quality that made the hat put her in Gryffindor. She also has a wicked sense of humour, which is always laced with a bit of a sailor's mouth--again, from her father. She gets biting sarcasm from her mother and uncle, but she gives the best hugs and can be one of the truest, most loyal friends you'll ever have.
Despite the love she has towards her family, she's also bitter. When she first came to Hogwarts it as all, "Ah, your mother!" and, "Oh, that father of yours!" and it was never about her. When she sat under the hat, she asked it to sort her for her--not for her last name, but for what she really was. She's still not sure if she really belongs in Gryffindor, but everyone else can attest that absolutely YES, she is the embodiment of the best and worst sort of lion.
PREVIOUSLY IN GAME
With her sixth year starting, Rose is just tired of it all. She's tired of living up to her mother's intelligence, or her father's humour. She's tired of trying to be the perfect Gryffindor. All she wants to do is play Quidditch and have the world leave her alone. Though she seems to not give a damn about anyone, Rose cares more about her little brother than anyone in the world. She'd do anything for her family: after all, she IS a Weasley. When things start to go to hell in the Wizarding World, Rose will be the first to fight for what's right, whether people are with her or not. While she obviously doesn't want anyone to be hurt or in trouble...she sort of does so that for once she can rescue them, she can be the hero, and people can say, "Look at that Rose Weasley." She wants her own story.
Rose plays Chaser for Gryffindor, taught by her Aunt. It was a moody day at the Weasley Household when she first beat her father in a legitimate game of Quidditch (as opposed to one where he let her win).
She did well on her O.W.L.s, mostly because if she didn't her mother would have her head. When she leaves Hogwarts, she wants to work with magical creatures, preferably in the field rather than at a desk. Rose and Hagrid have become very close, and she often confides in him when no one else is around (she got the suggestion to turn to Hagrid from Uncle Harry, who insisted he'd be a good ear). Sometimes, when she's really feeling lousy, Hagrid lets her ride a thestral...but don't tell Hermione, she'd kill him.
Finally, Rose gets through the day because of her cousins, Bridgette Devereux, and Basil. Friggin'. Bristow. Her cousins for obvious reasons. And her best lady friend Bridgette because Bridgette doesn't care about the history of Rose's family either, and never has. Rose really likes that about her. And Basil is her best guy friend because he also knows what it's like to have famous parents, so he gets her. It's scary how well he gets her. She and Basil just. You know. Click.
But they're not dating or anything so don't make that face, seriously. Stop it.
CURRENTLY IN GAME
Her final year means one last chance to have as much fun as possible for Rose Weasley. Last year was difficult: between hardly speaking to Basil, struggling to defend her relationship with Scorpius, fighting her desire to do something on her own about her aunt's kidnapping, and of course, witnessing the horrific death of Bailey Stevenson, she wants Year Seven to be completely different. With Scorpius, Basil, Albus, and Bridgette in tow, Rose intends to take charge and make sure that everyone enjoys themselves. Secretly, she's afraid of what will happen when things get hard--she finally found a confidant in Dominique, and now her surprisingly supportive cousin is gone. This just means Rose needs to trudge on and find her own strength, and she must make Dominique proud. As for her studies, she will continue to study Creatures and pass her N.E.W.T.s with flying colors, but she will also take Defense much more seriously. She'll never let Bailey down ever again.
