Author's Chapter Notes:
Occurs two weeks after Giselle completed her 4th year at Hogwarts.
“Alexander, I forbid you to marry that…that…Muggle!”
Giselle could hear her parents yelling at her older brother through her bedroom door. Even the simple silencing charm that she put on the door couldn’t withstand her parents yelling at Alex. Sighing she looked out the window of her family’s mansion. The Savages were currently living in their summer home so she was away from her friends, away from life, away from anything that truly made sense to her. True, she did get to go to social events that summer. But this summer…was different.
A knock was then heard. Giselle jumped up and looked at the door. Of course, it was Jasper and she groaned. But a smirk appeared on her face once she heard, “Hey baby.” Her boyfriend, Christophe was behind him.
“Hey love,” she replied. Giselle couldn’t help but keep a smile on her face. Christophe was practically the only one that could calm her down, other than her best friend, Elijah.
Christophe came up to her and sat on her bed, kissing her fiercely.
Jasper shook his head and murmured, “Chris, mate, remember my parents are still downstairs yelling at Alex.”
Christophe looked up and laughed. “I was trying to get some stress out of my girlfriend, Jasp.” He was now holding Giselle by the waist and kissing her neck from behind. Giselle was giggling like crazy until she heard a loud slam from downstairs. She jumped and slowly walked out of the room, with her brother and boyfriend by her side.
Looking from down the stairs, she saw Alexander walk up the stairs and into his room to pack his things.
“I guess mum and dad kicked him out,” Jasper said. “Probably disowned him.” Giselle glared back at her older brother and walked into Alex’s room.
Jasper and Christophe shook their heads before Christophe opened his mouth to say, “Fancy a game of Quidditch right now, Jasp?” Jasper laughed and replied, “Yeah mate. But what about Gissy?” Christophe looked at his girlfriend walking into Alex’s room. “Kay will be fine.” He walked up to her and kissed her on the neck, “Jasp and I are going to play a game of Quidditch. Join us later? Or…at least…join me on my broomstick?”
Giselle laughed. “Of course, love.” She loved it when Christophe called her by the shortened version of her middle name. She waited for a moment for them to be out of sight before walking up to her eldest brother.
“Alex…” she started saying.
Alexander looked up from his packing and smiled. “Mum and Dad disowned me, Gis,” he said. “I can’t live here anymore nor keep in contact with anyone from our family.”
“Not even me?” she asked. Her eyes were beginning to tear up as she saw her brother pack all his belongings into several trunks. She surely knew that her parents wouldn’t let him use any of the family carriages. Only thing he would be able to use to get out of there was the Floo Network.
Alex walked up to her and hugged her tight. “I’ll keep in touch with you, little one. You are after all my baby sister and I’m not even sure Jasper will be able to hold up to the big brother image all by himself. Both of us already know he’s rather messed up already from all the things he does while Mother and Father are away. Besides, I am taking Phobos with me. Mum and Dad aren’t able to separate him from me.”
A small smile appeared on Giselle’s tear stained face. “That means…I would have to keep it a secret from everyone,” she stated.
Sighing, Alex nodded. “Unfortunately yes. I know you don’t like the Muggle I chose to marry but please keep this a secret from everyone else. She is pregnant with my child. You don’t have to love or even like Elizabeth. But please…have at least a little affection towards my son or daughter, your niece or nephew.”
Giselle’s face was in a state of shock. Her brother actually knocked up a Mudblood, even said the word Muggle. But for the sake of her caring for her brother, she nodded. “I hope the child doesn’t come out as a bloody Squib then,” she said.
A laugh was heard from Alex. “I know you’re hoping that, little one. But please keep it a secret. I’ll be sending an owl to you every week while you’re in Hogwarts. I know it upsets you that you have to see me leave as soon as you got back from Hogwarts just a week ago. Mother and Father must not know that part of the reason I’m marrying Elizabeth, other than me loving her, is because of the pregnancy.”
Waving her hand, Giselle said, “I know. I know. I won’t tell.” She hugged her brother tightly as she quickly helped him pack.
“Oh yeah, Gissy,” he said. Giselle looked up and wondered what he was going to say. “Don’t let Mum and Dad or anyone know that you would be soft to Muggles even if my child is one of the exceptions.”
“I would never dream of doing that, Alex,” she said. “No-Tuft-Face would have a field day if she knew I would be like that.” She smirked, thinking of how much fun she has bullying Hufflepuff Mudblood Riley Tuft while she was in school.
Alex walked up to the fireplace in his room and waved to Giselle. He grabbed from Floo Powder and was about to say his destination, before Giselle interrupted. “That Mudblood better not break your heart,” she said. Alex grinned and threw the Floo Powder to the bottom near his feet. But stopped.
Giselle tilted her head curious to why he stopped.
Then Alex stated, “Elizabeth’s apartment isn’t in the Floo Network….I’ll have to apparate with everything.” He hugged Giselle one last time before letting go to appararate to a train station near Elizabeth’s apartment.
Giselle looked around the empty room. It was strange that her oldest brother was never to return to that house…to any of the Savage mansions. Walking out, she nodded and went out to play Quidditch with Jasper and Christophe, keeping the secret between her and Alex to herself.
